They're Coming!

oh no! Mother's Day is right around the corner, and then well I always love making a big deal over the 4th of July and who is graduating this year, getting married, having a baby??  Oh the wonderful parties and events I plan in my head before falling asleep each night!  Unfortunately, another summer of recuperating for me.  I've just undergone my 2nd back surgery in 6 months, so all these colors and appetizers and decorations may just be a dream once again for me this year, but some how some way, I will get at least some new healthy cookie recipe or sugarless cupcake in here!  Enjoy some inspirations of my older posts and keep on living the love in the details!

I have several sets of Easter and spring dishes I have collected over the last twenty years.  My intention was to set up a variety of them each night a few weeks before Easter....well Easter mysteriously snuck up on me and I am way behind....so here is at least one of my attempts to use my favorite dishes.  

Easter Egg Cookies

These really aren't as hard as you might think!  I used a regular plastic stencil on top of white fondant.  I made a thick mixture of

royal icing and spread it over and scraped it off with a spatula knife, lift up stencil and let frosting dry.  It was that simple.  My little butterflies are from a fondant cutter and just touched with some pink pearl cake dust. 

Easter Carrots

I see these cute little carrot bags all over the web filled with jelly beans, cheese balls and all kinds of sweets.  I had this novel idea....how about carrots in the carrot?  I am putting these in my kid's school lunches this week!  What a conversation piece for them!
