Easter Table 2012

I have several sets of Easter and spring dishes I have collected over the last twenty years.  My intention was to set up a variety of them each night a few weeks before Easter....well Easter mysteriously snuck up on me and I am way behind....so here is at least one of my attempts to use my favorite dishes.  

Easter Egg Cookies

Stenciled Easter Egg Cookies

These really aren't as hard as you might think!  I used a regular plastic stencil on top of white fondant.  I made a thick mixture of

royal icing and spread it over and scraped it off with a spatula knife, lift up stencil and let frosting dry.  It was that simple.  My little butterflies are from a fondant cutter and just touched with some pink pearl cake dust. 

Easter Carrots

I see these cute little carrot bags all over the web filled with jelly beans, cheese balls and all kinds of sweets.  I had this novel idea....how about carrots in the carrot?  I am putting these in my kid's school lunches this week!  What a conversation piece for them!
