Spring

Spring is on it's way.....It always makes me want to get organized, then with that organization and more open space I begin to get creative, excited to start to plan and share my energy with family and friends.  I love the excitement of warm weather and being outside again.  Little lunches and evening snacks on the deck are some of the best memories I have.  Easter colors and the hope of the new always inspire me too!  I want to begin to share some on my past little creations and joys with you here....

This sweet little cake was made for a sweet friend for her birthday.  A small cake pan was used for an individual gift size. Once covered in buttercream,  I added tiny squares attached to give the patchwork look.  Colorful fondant roses and sweet little daisies give a gorgeous color pop.  What better than whimsical butterflies to call out spring?

Tiffany Gift Cake

One of my best friends had one request of her husband......a diamond from Tiffany's.  So why not make an event out of it I say???  We planned a wonderful family trip to NYC and enjoyed site seeing, restaurants and wonderful family and friend time together.  Just before closing time, we made it to Tiffany's and our family was escorted out the back,  as my friend and her husband were able to stay to pick her perfect diamond....even beyond the closing bell!  So for her birthday, I made her a Tiffany present cake to commemorate her special day!  It was all chocolate with a chocolate gnash filler with a vanilla fondant covering.  She loved it and it was a wonderful surprise!
